new season

Ahoy there pirates!

long break from writing again...
and convincing reasons: moving to a different flat (again), ramadan month, ramadan eid, went back home to Serbia for 10 days, had awesome fun, came back, blah blah.. too many reasons :)

well, nothing much to share today, except one exceptional building that is being built in dubai. it's the burj dubai building, and it will be the tallest in the world, with the height of 355m, and 210 floors, completion expected end of 2008. check it out at this link. currently the tallest in dubai is the famous 7* hotel burj al arab - 321m tall.

here's little info:
"When completed Burj Dubai will hold the record in all four categories as recognized by the New York-based global authority - Council on Tall Building and Urban Habitat – highest structure, roof, antenna and occupied floor.

Explaining the scale of the project, Booth further said: “The Tower is the central core of the magnificent US$20 billion (AED 73 billion) Burj Dubai district and the new emerging Downtown Dubai. More than 500 international consultants around the globe are currently finalising the design. At its construction peak, a workforce of more than 20,000 construction workers will be on site to create 45 million square feet of liveable space to accommodate 30,000 homes, making the Burj Dubai site the biggest single construction site in the world. "

pretty nice! pretty expensive! pretty tall! and pretty out of my reach:)

apartment rentals...

ahoy!

I've lived in Greece for almost five yrs (probably THE time of my simple life). As a student, I obviously had to go through the hassle of finding a place to stay, pay kinohrista (lol), find cheap mixanyikos (lol again), etc..But Greece was nothing compared to Dubai...Now, Dubai is THE worst place to find cheap (read: affordable) accommodation, that is at the same time comfortable and close to your office..Even when you find a place, landlords usually ask for the upfront payment, or cheques like 3 months advance...And last but not least, you cannot share a flat with a girl, if you aren't related (married or cousins - but you have to prove that by showing the marriage certificate, or birth certificate)...absolute waste of time, and nerves, but that's the way things work here in the desert :)

I was just pissed off with moving 5 times during the past month, so i wanted to express that here...:) Dubai is still THE place to be, rapidly developing in all aspects, a MUST destination for everyone between 16 - 70 yrs of age...

shisha! :)

blogging...shisha & flower

Ahoy..
long time since my last (first) post...

The thing is that i just don't find time to write smth smart and casual, readable and exciting at the same time, since i'm working my arse off, and spending my creativity 9-6pm :) however, i've realized that blogging became a sub-culture, sort of like iPod and that kinda stuff..If you ain't blogging it's like you're not part of this new wwworld, you're not helping wwworld to develop by contributing your own thoughts....shisha.

Anyways, here's my contribution concerning the F-word (f*ck) and S-word (sh*t).
Janett K (the most talented devious graphic designer i met recently) decided that it's bad and not politically correct to say F-word, so instead we started saying Flower. The whole office is trying to cope with that, so you'd often hear What the flower is that? Who the flower is that? What the flower, motherflower! Flower you! sounds funny at the end of the day :) Then Prakash (our media consultant) came up with a substitute for S-word, and it's kinda not politically correct either, but we're trying to avoid being rude by saying Shisha! (which is a fruit smoking pot here in the Middle East).. so Flower that Shisha! :) you get the picture! :)

i'll try posting some pictures soon...when i find some nice ones...in the mean time here's the pic of Leeroy Thornhill (ex Prodigy), when he was DJing at Trilogy, Dubai!!
Awesome muzik, Phuntastic personality, Hectic crowd. Mad fun!
